flowers for a bike

Daughter nr.2 had an old fashioned bike.
What we call a 'granny bike'.
And I made some flowers for her.
I got the patterns from this book:

I also had some patterns from the internet.

granny blankets

I like to crochet. And in the months before my girls moved out I made them both a granny blanket, to fit on a double bed. Hundreds and hundreds of granny squares I had to crochet. For daughter nr.1 in neutral colors and for daughter nr.2 bright colors.

First I had all my coton in a basket. But I did not want two granny's in the same color combination. So I made a schedule and put all the skeins in numbered baskets. Now they have blankets with hundreds of granny all different!

I loved the colors and the feel of the coton

The stacks kept growing, but sometimes I wondered why I started this project?!
It would take me years and years to finish!

Lexie was always a big 'help'...

And then they all had to be joined! We laid all the squares out on the bed, to make the most beautiful layout. And then I thought I was done, but miscalculated how much work the joining of all those squares was...

And then they were finished! Finally, after almost two years (with a break of a few months after my father died, I did not feel like crocheting then).

*I am getting so tired of all that typing*
