kussen ananas en racefiets / pineapple and racing bike pillowcase

Ik maakte 2 nieuwe kussenhoesjes voor dochter nr.1 en haar vriend. Zij is gek op ananas en hij houdt (o.a.) van fietsen.

I made two new pillowcases for daughter nr.1 and her boyfriend. She loves pineapple and he loves to ride his racing bike.



Eerst maakte ik sjablonen van de afbeelding die op de kussens moesten komen te staan. In mijn Silhouette Cameo. Ik gebruik hier gewoon plakplastic wat je normaal gebruikt om kastplankjes o.i.d. te beplakken. Was ooit eens in de aanbieding bij de Lidl, werkt prima.

First I made templates. On my Silhouette Cameo. I used vinyl which is normally used to stick on shelves etc. It was on sale once and it works fine.

Dan pulk je alle deeltjes waar verf moet komen eruit. Bij de ananas was dat zo gebeurd. De fiets met al die spaken was een beetje meer werk ...

Then peel off all the pieces you want to paint. The pineapple was easy, but the bike was a lot of work.
















Nadat de sjablonen op de stof zijn geplakt ga je verven.

After sticking the templates on the fabric you paint.










Als de verf droog is kan het vinyl eraf.

When the paint is dry the vinyl can come off.







En dan kun je er kussentjes van naaien :-)

garden balcony / balkontuin

Ook op een balkon kun je een leuk tuintje maken. Ik heb wel gemerkt dat eigen zaaisels (kruiden en bloemen) het niet zo goed doen in een pot.
Maar ik had bijvoorbeeld druivenstekjes gekregen van mijn moeder, die doen het fantastisch! Nog geen druiven het eerste jaar, maar misschien deze zomer?

 You can have a little garden on a balcony. I did experience however that seeds did not grow very well. Cutlings on the other hand were no problem at all! I received some grapevine cuttlings from my mother. No grapes last year, but perhaps this summer?

De hosta. Die verdwijnt helemaal in de winter en dan ineens in het voorjaar zie je weer een stipje te voorschijn komen, en binnen de kortste keren is het weer een grote plant. Vorig jaar heb ik 1 grote hosta  in drieën  verdeeld.

This plant, I do not know the English name. In Dutch it is a 'hosta'.
It dissapears in the winter and then suddenly in spring you see a little white dot and within a few weeks it is a big plant again. It grows very quickly. Last years I divided it in 3 pieces.

Mijn olijvenboompje. Heb ik nu 3 jaar. En afgelopen zomer leken er echt olijven in de komen. Maar voordat de olijven een aardig formaat hadden droogden ze al op. Ik denk dat zo'n boom toch liever in een warm land staat :-)

 My olive tree. I have it for 3 years now. Last summer it looked like there really were growing olives. But before they were big they dried out. I think such a tree is happier in a warm country :-)

Linnen tasje oppimpen

Ik had een linnen tasje gekregen na een symposium, met daarop de naam van de organisatie, en ook de kleur van het tasje vond ik niet leuk (knalblauw). Dus ik besloot om er een hoesje omheen te haken. Ik had nog nooit een 'ripple' gehaakt, dus dit was een mooi klein projectje om dat eens uit te proberen.
Het patroon heb ik van: attic24. Supermakkelijk patroon en heel duidelijk uitgelegd met veel foto's.

A while ago I went to a symposium, and I got this bag. I did not like the color and there was also promotion on it from the company who organised it. So I decided to crochet a bag around it. I never made a ripple, so this was a nice little project to try that. I had a pattern from attic24. Very easy pattern, with lots of pictures.

A few weeks ago I bought a juicer.

First went to the store to buy all kinds of veggies and fruit.
I cleaned a few bottles to put the juice in and started to 'experiment'.

First try: celery, green apple, cucumber, lemon and spinach.
It made a nice green juice. But I did not like the taste of the celery in it. And half a lemon was way to sour for me.

 ***

Next: orange, pear, kiwi, lemon (just a little) and ginger.
That made a nice juice!

Next: carrots, apple and a little lemon. MMMmmm, lovely!
 

I enjoy my juicer very much. The other day I had 2 pears lying in the fridge and they were too ripe (I kinda forgot them). Threw them in the juicer, along with a bruised apple and some wrinkly carrots (forgot those too ...). And voila, a delicious juice.

Puppy harness

Since December daughter nr.1 and her partner are the moms of a beautiful little puppy, Isa.

2 weeks before they could pick her up daughter nr.2 and I organized a 'puppyshower'.

She is such a cute little thing! I had to 'puppysit' twice and that was so much fun. When she is awake she wants to play play play. And when she is tired she likes to sleep wrapped around your neck.



I made lots of harnesses for her. Very easy to do and very cheap, because I had some fabric leftovers (I only needed very small pieces). And a little girl can never have too many nice clothes right?

 

 And of course Wizzie had to test the fabric ....

 

Pattern cut twice (back and front) and pinned. I had some biastape (some very old, bought a long long time ago by my grandmother!), I also made biastape myself.

 

 I made some pockets and bows.

And she was georgeous in them!
